The organization is administered by a board of directors consisting of an executive board responsible for strategic issues like building and membership and a management board responsible for day-to-day operational issues. Only life members with good standing can be members of executive board, which is elected every five years. Preferably life members, or annual members with good standing can become members of management board of directors, which is elected every two years. All important issues of the organization and the board appointments are approved by guiding spiritual advisors- Swami Chidanandaji of Chicago, and Swami Brahmarupanandaji of Washington, D.C. There is currently an executive board of directors consisting of four members and a management board of directors consisting of six members. There are four officers of the board – President, Vice President, Treasurer & the Secretary.
The charter of the organization is to spread the message of Vedanta as taught by Shri Ramakrishna, Swami Vivekananda and Sri Sarada Devi. The society invites swamis of Ramakrishna Order centers in U.S. and abroad throughout the year to give retreats, discourses and talks on the Vedanta, Spirituality and the Scriptures. One of the important goals of the organization is to get a resident swami, and thus we need to have a strong membership and adequate resources to have a self-sustaining organization.
We need your help in fulfilling these goals and support this noble cause. We request you to please fill out and return the VSGH membership forms as soon as possible. We sincerely thank those who have already done so. We need the forms to update the membership list and build a database of the members to ensure timely mailings of the numerous programs planned throughout the year.
There are three classes of members:
1. Annual members with an annual donation of $125.
2. Life members with a donation of $2500*
3. Patron members with a donation of $15,000**.
*Please note that the life membership can be paid over three years.
** Patron Membership can also be spread over a three year period. Patron members are also life members.
All members can borrow books and audio and video tapes from VSGH library.
